There you go. Do you not see it? Your community members in Israel also believe a majority of them recovered from Covid and therefore protective measures aren’t necessary, and the bodies are piling up R”L.

My community is the Crown Heights community, thank you very much.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Let's do this again: there are two distinct things: personal immunity and herd immunity. Herd immunity has been proven to either need a higher threshold than we previously thought or the herds have been diluted to the degree at which the herd immunity is no longer relevant. Personal immunity, on the other hand, has, by and large, been proven to be effective, far more than the experts think/thought.

This is totally futile, as you continue to extrapolate and cast ideas, assumptions, beliefs and whatever.

A. Why are you getting defensive?
B. Help me understand, going back to the בושה claim, is this about legality or about pikuach nefesh?
C. I didn't accuse you, I stated what to the best of my knowledge, recollection, and understanding is fact. @aygart seems to concur.

And before you answer any of those, let me suggest that we cut this here and now, and try to find only positive things to say about fellow Jews.
I did not concur one way or the other about facts on the ground in Israel. I have no knowledge of it.

Exactly. You only concurred that I didn't make statements attributed to me about communities in EY. And as I stated above, whatever I said about EY is limited in that it comes from my distant vantage point.

Posting 1 incident in the non frum world proves absolutely nothing.

i dont have any fancy articles to show u, but i live here and find myself day to day going back and forth btwn religious and non religious neighborhoods.
the non religious are מצפצף on all the rules just as bad as the religious, if not worse.
on יום העצמעות during the lockdown, i drove thru the מודיעין area, and the parks were full of unmasked חילונים making barbeques

You might be confusing it with another common word, “what”.

Uch. Still makes more sense to vaccinate as quickly as possible to slow the spread.

I would be optimistic about Pfizer giving Israel more when needed. Other countries are progressing slower than expected and won't be as anxious for their next deliveries. Israel also signed early with AZN and those should be forthcoming soon.

Is Israel rushing to use AZN’s vaccine when they’ll get Moderna’s 6 million doses at around the same time in April? My understand is that there were efficacy concerns with AZN’s vaccine (especially for seniors) that weren’t quite cleared up.

AZN has some benefits like being safe for kids (some high risk kids are very anxious for a vaccine). Ultimately I think Israel will achieve herd immunity from Pfizer alone. The bigger problem is 20-30% of the 60+ who refuse to get vaccinated and 80+ who aren't going to get vaccinated. Netanyahu got this far with Pfizer's CEO and I doubt they'll let us down. His parents are Holocaust survivors and Bibbi is playing him well, he lit a Menorah at the Israeli Embassy, and I'm sure having a country overcome the virus entirely is great PR for Pfizer.
