Pace doesn't matter anymore unless they get more vaccines

Don’t they already have 3.2 million doses on hand, enough to vaccinate as many as they have already with supplies for a second dose for each of those people?

If yes, then doing so ASAP will help contribute to a decline in new cases.

Well played, Israel.

One more factor in the complexity, where the second dose has to be of the same vaccine the person first received. Let’s hope the Health Ministry is equipped to track who got which vaccine, because seniors are not.

Israel has unified EMR, so it's very easy to track these kind of things.

I keep reading of people that come into their Kuppah and get a vaccine even though they are not 60+. Any idea how I can do that? I have a high risk person at home but we cant seem to get an appointment.

Many people are trying their luck one hour before closing, just in case there are doses that were about to get thrown away.

From all the reading I've done, success has been mixed. Because the minute it works people tell all their friends and the excess doses disappear very quickly. There is a dedicated facebook group but I didn't find it very helpful.

However many people have been successful in places like Yeruham, Netivot etc, where there aren't has many older people booked and the staff is very friendly.

Try walking into a smaller Kuppah branch that is vaccinating people and will have less lines & scrutiny. Meuchedet seems to be easier than others.

950,000 people vaccinated in Israel. 10% of the population. On track to double that in 7 days before slowing down for second doses. Bahrain is at 3.3% with only 1.7m citizens and using a Chinese vaccine.

Israel has universal electronic medical records for virtually the entire country going back 20 years, which is very rare. The secret contract probably gave Pfizer good access to the data, which is an excellent win win.

41% over 60 for their first dose already!
Should get to ~85% by the time we start losing slots to second dose (assuming the Moderns shipment actually materializes)

Can a 60+ person arriving from the US get a vaccine shortly after arrival, or does he have to complete quarantine first.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

If it’s anonymized that’s a small price to pay. Hopefully it got them enough doses for herd immunity.

A perk of socialized medicine?

How would the Kupah know they came from abroad?

Other countries have socialized medicine too, not sure they all have universal EMR.
