On June 24 at 10:50am MoH reported 188 hospitalized
On June 24 at 19:00 Moh reported 189 hospitalized

N12/Mako is reporting 6 additional patients in serious condition, unclear if itís above 189 or inside the 189.
How many were released during that time? How many new?

June 23 was 189 so 1 released and 1 new. Thatís true as of 19:00. Itís now 03:00 and Mako/N12 is reporting 6 more in serious condition

ETA: I donít think MOH reports new hospitalizations, only total current hospitalizations, so itís possible 5 released and 5 new. That happened a few times with ventilated stats, 1 died and 1 new RCíL.

23 new hospitalizations, raising the total from 189 to 212.
4 patients died, lowering the ventilated count from 27 to 23

2.5 weeks later and this thread didn't age well. 459 new cases in the last 24 hours, we are on our way to a bad situation
New lockdowns in targeted areas across the country
Oy
One step away from lockdown. Everything indoors closing with the exception of shuls capped at 19 people

Thinking about going to NY and doing a complete quarantine for 2 weeks. Have a couple of grandparents who we're afraid we'll never get to see again, and quarantine won't be any different on this side of the ocean. Any reason not to (other than the dangers of the airplane)?

I'd probably want to pay (out of pocket) for a COVID-19 test around 10 days after arrival - what do those cost?

@CountValentine I think I need some crow for opening this thread. Have anything kosher on the menu?

Sorry as I have been overwhelmed with crow orders and have been shutdown due to covid-19.  :)

No one is enforcing (or for that matter even "requiring") quarantine in NY (can't talk about the rest of the country). If you actually get COVID-19 and get a positive PCR test you'll feel liberated after you get better. I'm not saying that you should.

I don't care what is enforced or required - I make decisions based on safety (well, if the law required it, then I would follow the law). I don't think it's responsible or safe to come from a hotspot and not quarantine.
I have no interest in catching COVID-19, despite how much as you think it will liberate me

You can start a thread for all the backordered things of the Covid era. Crow, freezers, toilet paper...

Did you ever think that you would become the face of the "it's good to get infected" movement?

1) plenty of Israelis around so no real reason not to go to NY.
2) any approved NYS testing site, which some urgent cares are, is free.

Don't really have anything to add, you're aware of the risks. I have no idea if the border is an issue anymore, but I'm guessing it isn't.

Are you sure it's free? I know in NJ if you have insurance it's free. Other wise you gotta pay.
I believe COVID test will cost around $200 but not sure.
