Israel vaccinated 115,000 people on Monday. 495,000 total. More than documented infections.
About 1.4m people over 60.

There have been a few instances where the Israeli media called on the general population to use vaccines that were close to expiration date without any prioritization criteria.

It appears Israel received thus far 3.2m Pfizer vaccines, and so will have to stop at the 1.6m mark unless they obtain more by then.

I assume the 3.2 million is based on 5 doses per vial, meaning the number is really around 20-30% higher - so enough for around 2 million people. Plus they claim another 600K enroute, which again should be +20-30% - should get us to almost 2.4 million. I estimate that gets us to ~Jan 11th. Will they get Moderna vaccine by then?

Did Israel order the Moderna vaccine? Is doing it through the Kupot Cholim the most efficient way? Can’t they have central walk-in vaccination points in every major city?

Yes, kupot cholim is most efficient way - they have existing system to track who got the vaccine and get people to come back for booster. It would be a mess to start from scratch. (Exhibit A, see United States)

FWIW. Germany has a 5 day quarantine (with test on arrival) since quite a while back.

What a joke

https://twitter.com/YuliEdelstein/status/1343909933742510081?s=19
Ridiculous.
What's the צריך לעשות בדיקה מיידית? Will they offer PCR in the airport?

So where do things stand now?
Existing entry permits are valid?
Single student permits are invalid?
UK/South Africa permits invalid?

Ooh, I know! They could make a list of green and red countries! And then ditch it! And then make it again!

Are they expiring them 5 days after they leave the deep freeze, or less?
FWIU when I asked the nurse before my vaccine, they move them from the deep freeze to regular freezers at the vaccination points. They must be used within 5 days. They also need to be used within 6 hours after removing from regular freeze.

The lockdown rules there are silly: my brother says you can’t be 1000 meters or more from your apt.
But you can exercise as far away from ur apt as you want
So my brother walks every day. To yeshiva.
Not sure how "gaming" the rules makes the rules silly

I can't believe you actually wasted time clicking on a link that says something about Israel "starting in April conditionally". If they wouldn't put those words in the link, it might be deemed clickbate, but with those words in there, who in their right mind would waste time and energy even clicking on such a link? Seriously???? Israel telling you now what the policy will be in April? Accurately predicting the GA senate runoff is more believable than anything about Israel's future (post election) policy.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Yes - first batch off the Moderna/Lonza production line in Switzerland.

Israel has large central walk-in vaccination points as well, and all hospitals are vaccinating people too.

I just joined Meuhedet (422 NIS x 4 month min), the online booking system is showing plenty of appointments available all over Israel tomorrow but will only allow 60+ to book them. I'd imagine by next week that will stop, too many appointments will be going to waste.
