Considering vaccination in Israel vs. Ireland, the Ireland dip looks even more immpresive.

Till their next wave. Israel will iyh not have another wave. Hashem should help.

Wondering why they don't sequence those fully vaccinated who got infected, to compare the variant prevalence to sampling from the general population?

Israel has very poor sequencing. It’s stuck up in politics now, the military wants to help but the Health Ministry is being protective. It took the military months to wrench covid testing permission out of the MoH.

It’s much easier to find the UK variant because by chance it shows up on the standard thermofisher assay

I'm hearing reports that foreign citizens are getting out very easily, since it's illegal to hold them here. I believe Chaim vechesed can help if needed.

I presume not since you can't leave with the US passport. Prob would let you leave if you sued or something similar. Anyone leaving now better be very comfortable potentially being away for a while.

My understanding is that even a solely Israeli citizen with a permanent home abroad can leave without issues. Foreign passport is more about proving that than anything else.

It's not any more illegal than holding Israelis, but as reported in the airport thread and DDMS, foreigners can leave without special permission.

How about a US citizen that is has Israeli residency (but not citizenship) for over 50 years. Easy to leave due to non-citizenship status? Return due to permanent residence in Israel?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Good luck returning. One who doesn't have an Israeli passport needs a special permit. They are trying to pass regulation that will require special approval even for Israeli citizens to return, and they canceled the Sunday FRA-TLV Israair until they figure it out.

Let's just say that many will be happy to have said person stay in the US for longer (and he himself might not mind or be unhappy about it).
