HT Benny Gantz. Real leadership.
Bibbi is just as guilty on this one. Blame whoever you like to blame.

I would think its hard to get people to buy into a plan where there isnt even a way to measure effectiveness. How will they determine when to re-inoculate? It makes the road map even more hazy.
Effectiveness is best measured by disease prevalence (the ultimate outcome) and not seropositivity.

Real world effectivness yes. Here it's effectiveness towards government standards... Antibodies is the only measure they have used untill now and these things dont change in a day. Or they do. That doesn't help though. Everyone is scared they won't or they will in the wrong direction. Even is Israel, this level of government involvement in everyones everyday life is unprecedented.

The floor is a handful of cases that are flying in every day.

At that point, attention will probably focus on the airport again, though there's no probably no political capital to impose restrictions there.

Crazy to think that so many are getting in despite the testing requirements. Any chance they’ll include statistics on how many of those testing positive arrived recently from abroad?

Another big drop in cases in Israel yesterday. 217 cases, vs 379 a week before on Monday.

R at 0.72.

58k tests, so quite a bit there.

0.37% positive rate. And dropping.

0.27% positive so far today.

And whatever few cases there are, are in Bedouin towns that refuse to vaccinate. Nonexistent elsewhere.

Doesn’t that reflect a rise in R?

It does. It means that it's only plummeting now, not nosediving.
And from a much lower baseline.

Yup.
Plus I don't get how they calculate the R at all, they are calculation based on 10 day incubation period, so 10 days from 4/11 is 4/2
4/11 had 217 new cases, 231 rolling average
4/1 had 417 new cases, 358 rolling average
How does .78 R make sense with any of those numbers
Also, when at least a percentage of the new cases are new imports - it's not reflective of R at all.
Basically, I think at this low rate of transmission with cases coming from the outside, R is not really meaningful

The R measurements are notoriously flawed but not fabricated, they use this complex formula to estimate distribution of spread throughout the infectious period.

They actually address your point about imported cases, but at the time community spread was high so imported cases were insignificant and countered by positive cases leaving - which isn't true now that prevalence in Israel is lower than the countries from which people are flying in.

Any recent information on antibody testing sites that provide same-day results. In February people were reporting that shahmir medical center was providing results the same day.

Slowly coming to their senses.

As of next week no more outdoor mask requirement. Where will Israelis let out their anger/hate/etc?
