Is this good or bad news?

Seemingly good news because the same immune response that slows the progression to severe for patients that progress to that, stops many other patients from even getting there.

I had a few nephews on respirators a few months ago from RSV

I don’t have the data in front of me, but RSV likely has much lower mortality for patients on ventilators vs. COVID.

As of August 1st, adults (18 and over) will be administered Moderna vaccines (except if previously received one dose of Pfizer). Pfizer vaccines will be administered to teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18.

Yup, there was talk about them swapping with South Korea (IIRC) to give them doses now in exchange for future doses (so that the existing supply could be used by SK before they expire).

You are probably still suffering from long-term effects of COVID-19 impairing your sense of smell.

They made such a געטשקע out of the vaccines, that when it turns out to be less effective than thought, they are at a total loss.

That was against Alpha, but they are still highly effective against hospitalizations for Delta.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

They seem to be generally a good thing. If what we know now was pitched as לכתחילה I think most peope would still take it. What's disturbing is the גאוה that science has to say "I know", be proven wrong, and the next day continue saying the same "I know".

I understand most people that got vaccinated. I don't understand why they think it's מובן מאליו that it's the most responsible thing to do. Forget about on a כלל level, on a personal level, if everyone around me is vaccinated, unless I'm in a risk group, my risk from covid is so low IMO it doesn't make sense to vaccinate. Everyone will jump and say it's morally corrupt. I dont think it's more morally corrupt than not going to the army because it doesn't fit my values even though realistically their needs to be an army. Are they working for me? Suffering where I don't? Yes. And me suffering with them or taking the shot won't change anything for everyone. And yes if everyone would say that it would be disaster. I'm open to a better plan. Untill then il enjoy my right to personal liberty.

How does your "risk group" change as new variants of the virus appear?
