So the Holocaust does take into account the millions of non-Jews that were murdered. Is there a word that takes them into account? I know it is not "final solution".
The point is to others the Holocaust will mean different things to them. In this country when say "Holocaust" most will say it is talking about the Jews. The same will be said about slavery that it is talking about the blacks.
That’s just factually wrong. That’s not what the Holocaust means and that’s not what slavery means.
Certainly people can have feelings about things tinted by the way they perceive them, and it’s important to be understanding and sensitive. It’s also important to differentiate facts and emotions. You say that blacks in America are more likely to feel repulsed by the reference to slavery because of their experience with slavery in America? That’s fair. But to say that the words master/slave in the context of a hard drive are racist is just a lie.
