Fair warning: pun absolutely intended.
A few years back, I was davening next to a Sefaradi fellow who was davening Rosh Hashana in Yeshiva for the first time. He corners me after Mussaf, telling me that he never felt the Yom Hadin as strongly as that year - the first time he had ever seen or heard the words of Unesaneh Tokef.
Every year since, I flash back to that time by Mussaf RH and YK, reading the words as if I had never seen them before. It makes a much bigger impact on me - especially when I think about various descriptions that had come true recently, but had been paskined on the Rosh Hashana before. Last year, I got the chills when I read "mi baraash." This year, I'm pretty sure no one will have a problem imagining disasters that were paskined on last RH, Rachmana litzlan.
As this helps me both with my kavana and with my kabalos, I figured I would share it.
