Relative of mine flew this week on a basic economy ticket on aa. Seat map was totally empty not one seat taken, and was basic they charge for seat assignments. Forget about social distancing or spacing people out they automatically assigned a middle seat all the way at the back of plane. I've heard similar stories from other people, why is AA not getting more heat for this?? Forget about the SD aspect, but simply during covid to be assigning middle seats on empty flights?? And his flight flew 70% empty.
