What to do about it is a separate question, but the first step is to realize that it is a major issue.

Also, the path from YouTube calling it hate speech to mosdos losing their tax exempt status is not very long...

I think you missed the flow of the conversation. We were pushing back against the comment "Maor should sue", not that Maor should protest. We feel government and legislation should be kept out of these things, specifically because of the concerns you just mentioned.

I specifically did not respond to Aygart or your posts though I
do think it is worth asking at what point do those laws hurt us more than they protect us.

I responded to someone who said that this isn't worth fighting for because in Europe they are banning shechita and milah

This isn't about banning one person's YouTube video.
When a problem is introduced like this:

YouTube, acting under the false pretense of protecting its users from so-called “hate speech,” has begun to remove videos that communicate Jewish values.
and ends with the following solution:
Quote
We respectfully request that they be once again made accessible for the world to see, hear and be inspired by.
then I believe a reasonable person could understand this to mean that this is about one person's YouTube videos having been removed, and the request for them to be reinstated.  Perhaps the petition could be re-written to focus on whatever this is about.

Censoring Jews from publicizing words of Torah is an insensitive act
This is about living in a world where mainstream (and until 5 minutes ago non-controversial) Jewish beliefs are labeled "hate speech" and people who should know better shrugging their shoulders.
In my world, I haven't seen Jewish beliefs labeled "hate speech."  Last time I looked in a Sefer Torah, no words of the Torah had been blacked out by the censor.  Last time I entered a sforim store, there were no labels condemning the writing as "hate speech".  Your claim that Jewish beliefs are labeled "hate speech" seems greatly exaggerated, and seems to apply to this one video.  Since the video is apparently no longer viewable, we can't judge whether or not it can be construed as hate speech.

The petition suggests that YouTube has removed a video which it felt was hate speech.  YouTube's policy includes this:  "If your content violates this policy, we’ll remove the content and send you an email to let you know. If this is your first time violating our Community Guidelines, you’ll likely get a warning with no penalty to your channel. If it’s not, we may issue a strike against your channel. If you get 3 strikes within 90 days, your channel will be terminated."

In searching YouTube, I see a channel called Maor, which has 2,482 videos.  Does it really seem worthwhile to jeopardize the good work that channel is doing by insisting that it include this one?

My point was that we need to pick our battles.

My point was that we need to pick our battles.

And my response is that the definition of normative Jewish beliefs as hate speech (even if it being done by a private company) is absolutely a battle worth fighting.

Fyi it seems that after consultation with experts they closed the petition
Always gratifying to learn that others agree with me. ;)

And my response (to myself) is  that battling you on this point is definitely not worth it, especially since the petition that started it all has been canceled.

Gotta pick my battles, so I'll let this one go.

Dumb business decision.  But coming from a time that some wrote off half the country as racists because they voted for Trump, thus seems just fair
So it seems fair to you that she is writing off more than half of the country?
This is "but officer" with a twist. I know I was going faster but officer...  :)

Letting private citizens who have no say in the matter sue? They have lost their mind.

Isn't this standard procedure for each president to install their appointees
I was referring to this: She chose to bring me into this. So Jen, you want to know about my qualifications? Joining the military and wearing the uniform of this amazing country remains one of my greatest decisions in life. For 22 years, I’ve had the honor of serving alongside some of the most talented, patriotic, and brave individuals this country has to offer. I’m a proud graduate of the U.S. Naval War College. I’ve done multiple tours, and politics has never entered into my service. I’ve served under five different presidents of both parties. When you wear the uniform, you serve the commander-in-chief. We take an oath as officers to the Constitution, not to a party. Each of us chooses how we’re going to serve this country. I won’t ever question how anyone chooses to do that. I won’t question how you choose to do that, Jen. But don’t you dare ever minimize or question my service to this nation. You got it?

If it is standard procedure and he was a very prominent Trump appointee I don't see an issue here. He claims this is unprecedented but I am not going to take his word for it
