Dell.com Master Thread
« on: June 11, 2020, 11:55:52 AM »
Apparently there is none, till now :D

There are 3 flavors to dell:
The average Joe can shop in any of them and the prices/configurations will vary between all three. Take the time to look in all three to find the best deal. The only caveat to buying something from the business section is you will need to add a business name to the order and just like a business credit card, this can be anything, ie: Joe's Deli.

There are always coupons out there, some are posted straight on dell directly at certain items:

Others have to be found (GYIF) and even if it doesn't list a code on the item per se, it can't hurt to try it anyway.

Fun fact, the code 50OFF699 applied to my order even though it wasn't listed but remember to enter codes in order. First, I entered 50OFF699 and then STAND4SMALL (thanks @Dan !) if I would've entered those in reverse then the total would've been less then $699 and the 50OFF699 wouldn't have worked.

Also, if you have not already, join the rewards program it's free money like any other rewards program albeit they expire.

Maybe this should be wiki'd especially the current promotions like this incredible amex offer and this awesome 10% off code
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

So I put all that together just to say this, yesterday I finally got around to taking advantage of the amazing discounts mentioned above and I chose this machine which as you can see shows a price of $729.

They currently have a promo of getting 1 year of pro support for free (usually it's $69/year) so I went to select that and this is what I saw:

I thought that was strange but clicked on it anyway and sure enough it immediately took $29 off so the updated price showed $700  :)

Then I entered 50OFF699 and boom, dropped to $650, then STAND4SMALL brought it to $585 pre-tax  :D

And hopefully after the above mentioned amex offer the total out of pocket cost will be $515 ($585 + $50 tax - $120 = $515) @Yisroel Tech

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Love this thread idea. I have no patience buying from Dell but maybe it will be made easier to navigate.

I need a new laptop basically right now with these minimum specs:
Ram: 16gb or 32gb
512gb SSD
Preferably a 14" screen so it can fit in carry on.

What does everyone reccomend?

Is the curve screen worth the extra price over a flat screen ? I’m looking at the 34in vs the 43in posted on ddms today.

Have to submit tax docs to the right department.
send documentation and your purchase # to Tax_Department@dell.com
Also make sure the dell.com account is set up under the org's name or you'll need to fill out some extra forms

This makes me mad, they are trying to pull a fast one when purchasing a new machine.

By default this is selected to auto charge you $5/month until you cancel  >:(

So unless you select the first option at checkout you're in for a $5 surprise on month 2 and going forward.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Just putting it out there, didn't see it mentioned here, unless I missed it, aaa gives an additional 10% of dell products*.
I've found it to be stackable, but probably depends on the code.

*Coupon is good with select other offers, but not with other coupons. Coupon is valid on select order codes. Offer does not apply to, and is not available with, systems or items purchased through refurbished items or spare parts. Purchase limit of 1 items per order. Not valid for resellers and/or online auctions. Dell reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing or other errors.

Any advice, is it worth paying for ''Premium Support'' and what about ''Accidental Damage Service'' will it benefit when you need it or just a waste of money?

Switch OLED for $350 (regular price) with free $75 Dell gift card. Plus Dell credits that everyone around here seems to have.
