What irks me the most is the gall of the planet savers who impose their draconian ideals and philosophies (each debatable in their own merit) on everyone through passing these legislations.
I have nothing against the idea of caring for the environment and our fragile ecosystem, but why can't each individual have the ability to choose where he wants to make his impact? I will decide based on my personal financial and convenience concerns. Why must there be blanket laws that strip away our ability to decide for ourselves?
My two cents for "Greenies": educate and encourage. But leave us alone. Don't tell us what to do. People respond better to encouragement, whereas forcing ones hand through government decrees just invites resistance and distaste for the entire ideaology.
Agreed but that is the liberal argument.
I'm starting to be convinced that it's a ploy by companies to save money....
Started when I saw an office depot truck the other day whith a sign on rear "
This Truck can not go above 40 mph even I'm highways to save gas and keep the environment clean.
Before the environment part registered I was thinking why would they want to advertise they're being cheap at the expense of your convenience (40mph on highway, seriously?)
