I don't really think you can imagine it. They are adding in three train lines. Almost everywhere you go, there is loose gravel, ditches, narrow streets that swerve back and forth, tractors coming in and out of traffic...
Excerpted from my upcoming comedy, "Tzomet Bar V'Chanyon":
Day 37
The manager arrives at work. Like every other day, he pulls out his survey maps. Let's see, where have we not dug up yet? Oh, that's right, 37-40 on 138-142. Oh, but if we dig there, there won't be anywhere for people to walk. I guess we have to fill 34-37 by 138-141 first.
As soon as the workers arrive, they fill up and pave the hole by 34-37, which they had dug up 14 days earlier. They then proceed to make the new hole as instructed.
Three hours later, a new tractor arrives at the scene. It promptly begins to dig into the freshly paved hole by sections 34-37.
"Hey! What are you doing? I just had that hole filled!"
"Oh, that has nothing to do with us. We're from the electric company..."
Don't change your trip plans because of this. On the contrary - I think it is quite the sight to be seen.
