Citi doing away with Amex cards?
« on: June 18, 2020, 12:32:43 AM »
I was recently notified that Citi will expire my AAdvantage Platinum Select card at the end of 2020, which is before the expiration date embossed on the card. They will replace it with a Mastercard.

Did anyone else get this notice for the AAdvantage Amex or for any other Amex card issued by Citi?

They used to offer a choice of Visa, Mastercard and Amex. Now the only non-Mastercard credit card available for new applications on their site is the Costco Visa.

They sent the MasterCard in the summer, but I'll hold off on activating it until the end of December just in case another good Amex offer comes along.

I now got notification that the Citi Dividend Amex is switching to Mastercard no later than the end of February.
