Cheap option to call israel from US using Verizon Wireless Mobile or Ipad...

I did a search but none of the threads that I found were current.  If I missed it, my apologies.

I need to call Israel to cancel a trip in August due to Covid and one of the hotels hasn't responded to my emails.  So, I need to call them.
The cost on verizon wireless is $2 per minute unless I sign up for a plan which is stupid for this one time occurrence.

What inexpensive options do you have for me to call a hotel from US using either my Verizon Wireless Iphone or Ipad (internet)?

You are right I am on a unlimited plan and I think I am wasting money because I doubt I use it to justify it even though I think its only about $13.90 per month.
