Mix the plain with a flavor until it's the right balance of tart/sweet.

That’s what the flavor experts at the company do, and you end up with 22g of sugar per serving :P

Keep in mind that it has a short shelf life. One taste of it spoiled can cure the want for a long time
Yes, this is a problem!

I used to buy their chocolate milk almost weekly, until about two years ago.
And that was because it started to so frequently taste off.
I still buy it maybe a couple times a year, but I open the bottle hoping for the best.
Whereas any other dairy products I regularly consume, I don't think twice about its freshness.

BTW when they say you have to shake it, you really have to shake it. Serious shaking is needed to get the cream to dissipate.

Till you meet Bethel yogurts. They have a much more "reasonable" amount of "added sugar" (IIRC ~12/13%).
Also, you don't get all those junky additives the other brands' contain.
Take for example their maple syrup flavor; IIRC its 2 ingredients are
-100% whole milk (IINM all the other companies use skim milk, and then add back cream depending on the % milk-fat content displayed on their label),
-100% pure organic maple syrup.

And the general texture of their yogurts are something else! Good stuff!
I find their plain yogurt much more palatable than the other brands.

But as others mentioned, the major hindrance is indeed their high price.

In addition to the short shelf life of their yogurts as well.

Nah, they're all absurdly sweet unless you mix with plain.

Beware that the shelf life on these items is really short (no preservatives). 50% of the yogurts/lebens on the shelf had a "popped up" foil top, indicating souring.
I bought a leben on Thursday and had it today (Sunday) and it was already spoiled. The yogurts (plain and vanilla) were delicious - my daughter said the vanilla tasted like cheesecake.
How popped-up is too popped-up?

If you think they are expensive, you should see what they cost in CLE Grove....($3.69)

And then there's some other new CY Yogurt brand that is even more expensive. I didn't try it as I know nothing about it, and am extremely happy with Bethel.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Random hack, we started storing Bethel milk upside down in the fridge. Helps (to mostly, not a perfect system) avoid the the huge glob of cream/milkfat on top.

That is the 'Meant To Be' brand. I think their farm is in Spring Valley- can anyone confirm?

There was an ad / article in the Monsey View a while ago. https://issuu.com/themonseyview/docs/issue_413_low_res?fr=sYTBjMTYyNzY3MzY

Haven't tried it as it is ridiculously expensive. 32oz Bethel milk is $2.89 in my supermarket. Meant To Be 32oz milk - $9.99!

Avoid? That's the prize for opening the bottle!

They switched to half gallon bottles of milk. Is that smart if the shelf life is limited?

Is the half-gallon the same non-homogenized milk?
