I've heard rumors of the airlines sharing pax info with the city. May or may not be accurate.
Heard that too, but then they wouldn't have the number I got called on.

Did you return from the UK?

New York is strictly enforcing the quarantine with the Sheriffs for any travelers returning from the UK due to a mutated strain of Covid. I'd imagine that you won't have much of an issue returning from anywhere else especially if you fly into Newark.

Since when?
I returned before the mutation was known about...
Also, I'm wondering, are they only taking the GE info from specific flight arrivals?

Recently left the country and returned specifically to Newark to avoid the questionnaire (even though flight times to JFK would be way way better...).
3 days later, both my travel partner and I received calls from the City sheriff on our cell phones. Only place they could've taken the info from is Global Entry.
Question is; if I leave again and return to Newark, am I allowed to take the non-Global Entry line? And if yes, will it help? Or will they anyway have my info when they scan the passport?
(As an unrelated side note; when I used the GE kiosk, it didn't even ask for the usual fingerprints, passport scan, customs questions, etc. After the initial picture, it printed my receipt and we were on our way. Both of us used different kiosks...Is that a new thing? Never had that before....)
Highly doubt it was Global entry. I know people that have received txt msgs from simple domestic flights
Don't sweat over it

What's the latest for landing in JFK?
Also, are all airports collecting travelers forms now because of Biden's new rule? Or is that just a suggestion?

I just found it creepy that they had phone numbers that i had not provided....

National Guard is becoming more aggressive when you land. They force people to fill out the form as they watch but obviously they don't know if you are putting fake info :)

I filled it out online (maybe my info was correct, maybe it wasn't) but I took a screen shot of the page when it was done, cropped out my name so you only see the green check and flashed it to them as I walked off....Zero issue and I beat everyone to baggage claim.

If I'm travelling to NYC from another state, not international travel (flying into JFK, leaving out of LGA) for less than 24 hours, is there any way to avoid their quarantine? It doesn't look like showing up with a negative test result will help. Anyone know how strict they enforce it at the airports or with following up?

Fill out the form. 50/50 chance they'll even follow up with you eventually.

You're suggesting to fully disclose my travel plans? And if they follow up, is there any wrongdoing on my end for taking the 1 day trip?

All they ask for is the address where you are quarantining. By the time they follow up (if they even do) you'll be back out of state.

I hear you and appreciate the advice. And should I fill it out online before I travel to NY or when I arrive in JFK?

Online before you arrive in NY or a paper form once you land.

(Feb 2021) I can confirm UA shares pax info when landing in EWR with NYS, (or hands it to NJ and NJ gives it to NYS)
WE NEVER filled out any forms and we received 3 phone call from NYS a day or two later, i am sure they have it somewhere deep in terms and conditions that by booking a ticket you agree to share your personal data with all states in very small fine print words, I am very disappointed with United, i only agreed to share my data with TSA, I hope someone will sue them.

Interesting, UA specifically asks you if you want to share this information.
Its possible you didn't realize what you were clicking... but if I'd have to guess this would be it.

Its possible, but i normally only select a box that is required, i be more on the lookout next time during the booking process.

Its a tough one to realize.
You have to avoid filling the information and then check/uncheck not to share, if above is not done you can't really checkin online....

When checking in online UA askes you to fill out contact information for cdc contact tracing. First glance it seems like it's mandatory but you can skip it.
