$5 port fee. $2 monthly.
I guess for a period of 7 months or less it might be worth while, otherwise why wouldn't you go with GV?

I just use google voice. $20 to port and free from there on. Free call forwarding, free texts (via the app), and all calls I make from my phone automatically go thru my GV # (and from overseas I can make all calls from the GV app with original#)
It's been over 3 years now. Only issue is sometimes companies dont like the number because they see it's virtual, so then I'd use the actual number on my sim).
I'm not who you think I am.

I had Verizon prepaid and I just called up customer service and told them I was out of the country as an exchange student and they pushed off the account expiration date for a year. I did this for four years consecutively and never paid a penny.
