port forwarding for Voip
« on: June 29, 2020, 12:05:09 AM »
i setup 6 phones for a camp using localphone as the outbound call provider with a subscription of 5000 for each line (each line has a separate localphone account), all lines had only one way audio. i know the way to fix it is via port forwarding etc, but as i don;t know what to do, i just disabled the firewall. anyone has a good guide to port forwarding or maybe can help me out?

There are lots of port forwarding guides on the internet. Here is one for example https://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/general-port-forwarding-guide/
You should turn your firewall back on ASAP as it's very bad for security to have it off and you are leaving yourself vulnerable.

You should not need Port Forwarding for VoIP calls to work properly, and if something it makes you much more vulnerable.

As Hamagid mentions, turning Off SIP ALG in your router might help.
