There were changes for COVID restrictions in the US for those who are vaccinated.

There has been no change regarding International travel for vaccinated, besides maybe one of Cuomo's bs rules

Either way, it does seem to me from my research today that a spouse of a US citizen would be exempt from the restriction, I didn’t see anywhere that they’d have to apply for an exception. Maybe I misread or something changed since before Pesach.

Marriage license is acceptable

AFAIK nothing changed since January 25th with regards to entry restrictions for those traveling from Schengen countries. There were changes for COVID restrictions in the US for those who are vaccinated.

A spouse was allowed but in the airport the airline had to get permission from some type of office not sure which.
They flew the next day with LH just arrived much earlier and were able to get the approval before checking in.

Key is to arrive early so airline can run it with DHS

Read what I wrote, there were changes to COVID regulations in the US for vaccinated travelers (entering legally, because they aren’t coming from a restricted country or are exempt) from abroad. If you’re a vaccinated US citizen for instance you don’t need a PCR test or quarantine, that has changed sometime between January and now AFAIK.

Interesting datapoint, thanks for clarifying.

lol
before Jan 25 no one needed a PCR to enter, and since Jan 26 everyone needs a PCR to enter. no difference vaxed or not
And there was never a quarantine requirement

You’re correct about the PCR, I misread.

With regards to quarantine there wasn’t a federal requirement to quarantine, but the federal guidelines now stipulate that fully vaccinated people don’t need to quarantine, there were local/state quarantine requirements and presumably this federal guidance would override that.

Regarding international travel the states rules doesn't even matter because they were never enforceable even, besides maybe Alaska/Islands, but on the mainland it was a joke, shouldn't even be discussed at this time

I fully get how you don't appreciate my cynicism, but seriously: how much mental energy are you willing to spend on figuring out these ridiculous political power trips?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

The starting point for reality is to figure out what the rules (if any are) and then to ask whether they’re applied, which is what I did. Someone questioned something I wrote and I attempted to clarify it.

Are the rules unscientific, inconsistent, and ridiculous, sure. But they’re also enforced (based on the responses I got), so whether they’re scientific or not doesn’t move the needle for me.

I'm 100% with you with the question about enforcement. It's the other hundreds of words before and after that I don't get. Simple one sentence question. Simple one sentence answer. Case closed. Next.

Eh. No offense. You just belong to the age of cheap media/storage. You probably didn't grow up with 360k floppy disks, 20MB hard disks and 640k RAM.

You just dated yourself, maybe you need a HDD upgrade? :P

And for the record, I’m pretty sure my first computer (just mentioned it here) has similar specs to the ones you mention.

I’ve already corrected the PCR part (I was mistaken), and the quarantine part is not enforced either way. If you really need it I’ll find you the page I read it on.

My age is no secret 'round here (I even recently updated the unique airport thread with a tidbit that dates me). Won't mention the earlier devices that didn't even use floppy disks. But I've assembled quite a few of those PCs with a 5.25" floppy, 20MB HDD and 640k RAM (forgot to mention the EGA monochrome graphics board, parallel and serial ports).
