so I'm planning (aka dreaming) to pull a fiber cable from my basement to the attic, with a OS2 single mode LC connectors, router is in the basement will get a POE switch for the attic and I'll pull cat 6a cables from the attic where ever I want them
primary use would be cameras, I also want to put in speakers/intercom in the ceiling and some ports here and there in case i'll want to use them in the future

question is what devices do I need to connect the end point of the FOC (Fiber optic Cable), a transceiver a media converter or a fiber switch in the attic and a transceiver/media converter in the basement
I'm confused between the difference of a transceiver and a media converter
