Blood type and severity of COVID-19 (poll)
« on: July 04, 2020, 11:41:47 PM »
Some guys in shul mentioned that blood type O experienced very mild symptoms. I have type O+ and my symptoms were indeed extremely mild. My neighbor also had very mild symptoms and is type O.

If you know your blood type and had COVID-19 please participate in the survey. If you are aware of any anecdotal evidence pointing one way or the other, please post.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

It could also be just a correlation. The vast majority of people have mild symptoms and 45% of people have Type O blood.

Can you define extremely mild? I’d love to drop 20 lb in an extremely mild fashion  ;D

2 days of low-grade fever (around 99) and diarrhea. Lost appetite and had fatigue for about 10 days. (I did have a near syncope which ended me in an ER, but evidently that was because I wasn't really eating much, all vitals were perfect, chest x-ray was clear, and COVID-19 PCR test wasn't administered because I had no respiratory issues).

That does sound like an ideal way to lose 20 pounds, any way to sign up for that regimen? :D

That’s terrible.
I just read the story. It seems like it wasn't a "covid party," but rather a regular party to see his friends.

And he wasn't a college student, but rather a 50 year old man with diabetes?

When I did a search on Twitter for "Covid Parties," those two tweets were among the first tweets that came up. Assumed it was about the same topic...

Yup. Very different from

if you're willing to be stuck in bed for a week or two to be able to visit Israel, why not just go and suck up the 2 week quarantine?
If you'd done that when you started kvetching, you'd be back already in time for 770 reopening

Big difference. At least in the hypothetical (hypothetical, because I don't believe it could be symptomatic) "round 2" there would be several long lasting benefits, vs being locked up in jail for 2 weeks with no benefit. Also, in case you haven't noticed, I did enter 770 a couple of times before the full reopening.

What kind of symptoms? Are you saying that my "round 2" could actually work for me to shed another 15lbs?
