You could try to boot of a USB drive, that possibly could work better. Or try an older version - I have used BT3, and BT4
I had a laptop i was using that I was having probelms using BT4, and BT3 worked fine for me
I've read about it online. The HP Envy 14 line is prone to issues with Linux because of the switchable graphics. They can't be turned off apparently (there is no option in the BIOS). During booting of Linux, the screen will just turn off and not come back on until a reboot.
On my old lappie, though, I have no problems.
So, I'm just gonna order a $10 USB adapter and run from within VMWare. I'll probably get the Netgear WG111v2 (running the RTL8187L chipset) as I don't want to lug around the Alfa with that huge antenna.
