In actuality it was localized overloads and not the entire NYC hospital system.
We're starting to see hints of that here, although the hospitals have really been doing a stellar job. Miami-Dade ICUs are at 122% capacity, with somewhere near 65% of ventilators in use. Current hospitalizations are up to 9234, up from under 7000 on July 10. That's not new hospitalizations, just current. Meaning anyone who was released from the hospital or died over the last 10 days has been replaced, with an additional 2400 people admitted on top of that.
