I didn't know then which candidate would be better for our country and I still don't know which would have been better. The country is in a terrible place right now. It's certainly possible it could have been worse or better with Clinton, but I'd say it's a coin toss.
I do know I was deeply unhappy about my options and I picked the option closest to my beliefs.

Why did you bother voting?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Civic duty.
Plus, downballot issues.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

So you could have just voted on the downballot issues and skipped the presidential ticket.

Every vote counts.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Every vote counts.

How did a vote for McMullin count? As opposed to not voting on a presidential ticket?

A vote for the only conservative candidate on the ballot says more than a blank vote.

How did a vote for McMullen count?
The same as a vote for HRC counted.
Last time I checked even votes for losing candidates are counted and do count.

Dan, the piece that you quoted from r Wein https://www.rabbiwein.com/blog/post-2309.html.
With all the problems that come with DJT. As long as he is in office or any R for that matter. We don’t have to be concerned about this.
The other considerations should be irrelevant opposite this

What if DJT is the one accelerating the pace of change by purposefully stoking the flames of division while uniting the left and things would have been different if the left were in charge (and infighting) while the right was united in opposition?
COVID-19 is likely to evict the ruling party in many countries. If HRC was in charge, perhaps someone like Rubio or Cruz would be a lock for November right now?

What if I'm not smart enough to know the answer to that?

To whom? To yourself, maybe. Otherwise, I don't see how it says anything when it's crowded out by votes for the two main contenders.

2016-Evan McMullin

Of which I regret none of my votes.

Happiest crow eater right here! May Trump continue to prove me wrong for the remainder of his term.
+1

Crow is final sale.

No need to post for the 2nd time in one day the "would've could've" quote. I don't think anyone is smart enough to know the answer. It's simply beyond us (aka לנורא עלילה על בני אדם). Though I would guess that if HRC was the one to appoint justices RBG might have chosen to retire.

To whom?

To the people tasked with running future campaigns. The question that gets asked in the run-up to the next election is why those people voted that way and how to get them to switch. The more people who vote third party, the more important that question becomes.

The pardon was great, but that doesn't make up for everything else including fanning the flames of what divides us and truly rudderless COVID19 leadership.

What if this election Trump loses and they lose the senate? Was it worth it?
How much long term damage has Trump done to the republican party?

Agreed that knowing final outcomes of what we do is way above all of our pay grades. The only thing concrete(sort of) that does come out is having a Supreme Court giving some credence to religious freedom. And that is the lastthing to stop to all the craziness out there.

Seems likely to me.
Nope.
I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a decade to recover.

The amount of naivete in this statement is both astounding and troubling.

It would right now be 7-2 liberal Supreme Court if djt had not won. That is almost irreversible
