Now you know why schools in Lakewood are not testing. That are not interested in having the government 3 ring circus make their decisions for them.
Do you not think that maybe if there are positive cases in a class that for the safety of the boys, their families and all the people that they may come into contact with that maybe the classmates should be quarantined and tested before going back to school? These decisions should not be about the government it should be about our safety.

Safety of the boys is a non starter. The number of fatalities among children is beyond negligible. As far as potential spread to rabbeim and families, that  really depends on your outlook. If you are comfortable with 0 deaths and 3 hospitalizations in Lakewood out of close to 1000 cases over the past few weeks, and/ or feel that spread to those who haven’t yet been infected is inevitable sooner or later, that is going to factor into your approach.

What I am concerned about is a return to the March/April numbers (and deaths C'V). Do I know that if we do nothing that is where we are heading? No I don't know that, but that is a reasonable concern. So do we do nothing and hope that doesn't happen again or do we take the measures now when the numbers are still small to try and prevent us from possibly heading someplace where we have been and don't want to go again?

With this virus you need to be proactive not reactive.

What does this have to do with a school being closed down.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Any logical person realizes it's impossible for us to get to what happened in March/April for many reasons including at risk people taking precautions and the fact that there is some level of immunity.

And it sound like NYC is going to keep them closed for a long time. When you factor in Sukkos, pretty much no school for these kids for a month straight. Lakewood schools are looking really smart for the way they are handling this.

You know what would've been even smarter? Pushing for restrictions at weddings.

Do you really think that nobody is going to figure it out? What happens when they do?

There are two benefits to going under the radar. If there is limited Covid activity the school can continue uninterrupted. Even in the event the kids end up testing and come back with positive results, a Lakewood school with the covid numbers that YDT had would likely send those specific classes home for a week or so, and allow the hundreds (or thousands) of other students to continue to learn uninterrupted.

If someone “figures it out” they are no worse off than YDT.

When, not if, someone figures it out, the chillul Hashem will be massive. All the conspiracies about hospitals killing people will become a very real concern. The local anti-Semites will multiply their numbers, putting Jewish lives at risk and Jewish agendas nearly impossible to achieve. Don't kid yourself: there will be a very real price to pay. Nothing in life is free.

This is nothing but delusional. When they figure it out you can expect to be seeing a large state police presence in Lakewood daily. How do you think they will take to BMG?

Aware of an uptick or aware of the full scale?
