Strange Baggage Allowance on United award
« on: July 13, 2020, 10:58:31 PM »
I just booked a United one way award from TLV-EWR. Economy no status. When I enter the reservation on United's site it shows two free 70lb allowances. My email confirmation has the standard first bag free second bag 100. Has anyone seen this before? Will I really be able to have two free 70lb suitcases?

The louder you say it the more Likley you are to be allowed 1 50LB.
What program did you book it thru? Dont need to  name!

United. And when I go to purchase a "second" suitcase it says I have two free and charges me 200. Should I take a chance and show up with two 70 pounders?  My kids are coming home from Israel and could really use it....

I would definitely bring a printed screenshot or proof along to the airport.

+1, if they make you pay, claim a reimbursement from UA after travel.

Thing is if they have to pay for overweight it'll be more than just paying for a second 50lb piece...

Update. Agent at EWR said I've been working this desk for twenty years. You get one free bag and wouldn't budge, even though we had a printout showing two bags.
