Update: British Airways booked ticket for regular infant fare , with child turning two mid-trip. Have to call back after ticketing to assign seats.

Southwest always ask for ID, even when my kid was 6 weeks old. With southwest, I realized that the odds of a completely full flight were slim, so may as well bring a "lap child" and then ask at the gate - if not a full flight, the FAs are more than happy to let you bring a carseat on.

Can anyone confirm that British Airways will assign a seat on the return leg when an infant turns two mid-trip? Is this still in effect? Are there any other airlines that do it?
Does any other airline offer this on intercontinental flights? Looking to fly to Israel with my infant turning 2 mid trip. Any advice will be appreciated. (I know it’s safer to book him a seat...)

Anyone know this or did you ever find out?
Looking specifically at united, but good to know about any. Whats the process? What if I put in wrong date on first leg, then call to correct(easier than calling to book atm)?

Help what? For me it will help avoid the need to call now, since at time of booking they dont allow infants to be booked online that will turn 2 mid-trip
