Trying for ages to get an appointment to file for CRBA so I can get an ss# for my kids but no availability. I tried Tel Aviv and they gave me an appointment in May. Is that what ppl are doing? Waiting 5 months?

No, I have dual US/Israel citizenship but I wasn't born there. A lot of ppl are telling me they are having the same problem. There aren't enough appointments. What can be done about it?

Why don't you make a fake ticket ( or a real ticket and cancel) - (Obviously before you do it ask your LOR)?

It's a sheila of geneivas daas for sure and anyway I'm not making a passport. I only need a consular report of birth to get a ss# for my kids so I can file my tax return so I can get my refund. I pay taxes every month to the US bec. I work for a US org. So my taxes they are getting, but my refund at this rate I can wait the better part of a year. It looks like I'm being penalized for living in Israel that I have to wait 5+ months to get an ss# for my kids. What can I do?

I don't know if they're responding to emails but maybe contact the state dept and/or SSA and see if they have any ideas for you.

dont think it will help you so fast after you apply. I am still waiting to get the number 6 months after the appointment that i waited for for 6 months.

There are a few CRBA appointments (for undocumented citizens who want a CRBA and passport) on Chol Hamoed Pesach in the Jerusalem branch. You can apply for one even if your baby has not been born yet (by leaving the "first name of child" blank).

There are also a bunch in Tel Aviv including this week. I'm posting what I found.

I have heard of people that it did take that long.

Average seems to be six months. However, one of my kids took eleven, and one took a mere two (the most recent one).
