Air Canada Refund help.
« on: July 14, 2020, 07:26:43 PM »
I have a flight from IAH to TLV next Monday on Air Canada. It is now a week before the flight. AC has changed both my flights to very long layovers in YYZ. The outbound is 25 hours the return 18 hours. The flights have NOT yet been cancelled. and they do look like they are flying. According to the DOT rules if I do not accept their change I am entitled to a refund. I booked with Chase points and they say the airlines policy is only a voucher. I did file a DOT report 3 weeks ago and have not yet heard back.

What is the best way to handle this to get a refund?

Thank you.

Aren't AC flights to/from TLV allowed to be refunded if there is a cancellation/schedule change?
Make stuff happen.

This clause/exception of refunding TLV routed AC flights to credit card, is in the waiver policies of the airline - the same one that says any cancellations by AC after sometime in April are nonrefundable back to Credit card.

So it looks like you got a competent Chase rep that read the rules correctly, and submitted the refund as per the waiver.

If this is the case, you should definitely expect a refund to your CC/points

Make stuff happen.

Where can I find that in writing? The page that DD links to was taken down by AC.
