As a result, American will launch international service from New York (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV)
This is pretty exciting. Asides for the possibility of price wars, this also means that Hyatt status will give you at least temporary benefits on AA, Alaska and on JetBlue.
There ditching the DFW-TLV or there just adding this route as well?
I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself
Why? They are both starting reciprocal benefits in a few months.
yes but it doesnt mean anything so great that you wont get by just having an AA card anyway
But with ELAL likely out, or very diminished, lower prices for the customer is probably not so likely. But so excited for this nonetheless.
Even AA is better than LY. Capacity will eventually increase between the airlines serving the route to match demand. It's a profitable route with lots of demand, and the airlines will bring capacity to some kind of equilibrium.
LY won't come back at some point and take back there existing routes?
