This is pretty exciting. Asides for the possibility of price wars, this also means that Hyatt status will give you at least temporary benefits on AA, Alaska and on JetBlue.

yes but it doesnt mean anything so great that you wont get by just having an AA card anyway

Even AA is better than LY. Capacity will eventually increase between the airlines serving the route to match demand. It's a profitable route with lots of demand, and the airlines will bring capacity to some kind of equilibrium.

LY won't come back at some point and take back there existing routes?

LY is a heavily tarnished brand at this point, even for those Israelis that will prefer it. The question is when they would come back, and with what kind of (soft) product, while US airlines build market share and loyalty on this route.
