Correct spelling of Yiddish/Jewish names

You mean 3, you even quoted yourself 3, not 4. Sheina is spelled with 1 yid & an alef at the end as a yiddish name not a tanach name

Pardon my ignorance, but what makes one spelling more correct than another? Aside for names that are actually written in Tanach, why can't you spell it as you wish, like you would with an English name?

Because if you write on a get PEEBEEEFF instead of PBF the get is no good. And if the woman has kids later on with someone else its a problem

Same as Sheindel etc. Technically its very similar other than the Dalet, Lamed & one has an alef..

Again, yiddish names end with an alef in tanach it ends with a hei. The ONLY place where you will find a name with a hei which can go either way is Akiva... Spelled with an alef as its not a tanach name but in Yerushalmi its spelled with a hei at the end hence the sefer Ohr Zarua named after the sofei tevos.. see the 7th paragraph on this link: http://www.shemayisrael.com/parsha/peninim/archives/reeh68.htm

While on this topic.. I once heard that the name Beila (Technically Liba too) is the roshei teivos for:

Baruch hashem leolam amen. beis yid lamed alef

Another very popular name in our family that I dont think the spelling & pronunciation goes together but I havent seen it spelled wrong too many times is Mechel. Mem, yid, chuf, lamed.

It seems like it's sometimes done with Yehuda as well (possibly because of R' Yuda in the yerushalmi)

I've heard from one of the rabbonim from Washington Heights that the origin of Baila is from belle (French for beautiful).
