Is there just 1 yud in Bayla?
I am almost positive that the correct way to spell it is with 1 yud, though that doesn't mean we don't spell it with two on a daily basis. As mentioned, correct spelling is most important on Gittin.
Talking of which, reminds me of a family member where I'm not sure of the correct spelling. This goes back to the e sound found in Mend
el, (M
echl,) Rech
el, etc. where some put a yud in there such as מענדיל, רעכיל, while some drop it such as מענדל, רעכל. Any insights?
