Another of my in-laws friends also tested positive. All in their sixties.
Which community?

I am tracking the numbers released by the OCHD since June with a break Sukkos time when numbers stopped having any meaning. If you click on the globe in my profile that will open up the Google Sheet.
You sent around a while back and I have been using your template to track rockland county cases.
If you don't care why would you comment?

Chemed has. But note that rapids aren't accurate; my father in law had a rapid negative and a positive PCR (taken same time) this week.
Yup. In the past, I had 2 nephew's rapids contradict the PCR (one negative and one positive). Seems like it's a high enough rate of false tests that I'm not sure if it's beneficial to take that test altogether.

So far it's an anomaly, if the trend continues it would be an upswing.

Heard directly from Dr. Friedman and Dr. Lebowitz (info current as of Friday) that there's significant spread in the frum community (though not yet in same numbers as RH/YK). Specifically pointed to weddings as the culprit.

A relative went to take a covid test today. She said there must have been 100 people in line, mostly frum. Really doesn’t make sense that we are potentially choosing weddings over schools. There are a significant number of positive students at this time. The irony is that the wedding halls exist to help fund the schools and keep them running....

But when you think about it, to many people the schools exist to facilitate weddings...

After a week or two of just about no cases, likely due to no weddings in the month prior and more awareness, we’ve now had a few weeks with several hundred cases per week and rising. According to Dr. Lebowitz it’s back around town with a vengeance. Worse, many people have no idea where they picked it up.

My mother tested positive M”S (mind you, she had two negative rapids in between. Completely worthless other than to detect extra positives early. Do NOT rely on them to rule out COVID.)

Older people lowered precautions after the week or two of calm we had. It’s time to raise awareness and caution again. Doesn’t help that the weather is only getting worse...

Positives so far in my family this past week:

Wife (asymptomatic)
Father in law (mild symptoms - aches/insomnia)
Mother in law (mild symptoms - aches/insomnia/anosmia)
Sister in law (mild symptoms - headaches)

PCR results pending for myself and 2 kids (we have no symptoms or really mild); rapids today were negative.

I DO know where we got it from - was a family gathering (against my better judgement, because I have relatives who are NOT being careful (b'shita...??)).

And this time we aren't going to get any special recognition from the state government, so things will chug along as is...R"L.

Looking at the numbers, over the past month the 7 day average has been pretty steady with a very slight increase.

Where are you getting your numbers from?

According to the Chemed tracker (which really only tracks Chemed/MyCare and occasionally Friendly's, and so you need to multiply by some factor of N to extrapolate the missing urgent cares/labs/doctors), the current (as of 11/27) 7 day average is 15. These are numbers in the frum community, and based on what I've heard from Dr. Friedman in the past you can safely multiply by 5 to get a fuller picture.

Looking at the numbers, over the past month the 7 day average has been pretty steady with a very slight increase.

The 7d average, based on the OCHD numbers for Lakewood is currently 35.4. One week ago it was 29.7. Fourteen days ago it was 24.3.

The link to my spreadsheet is in my profile.
