I believe BMG has random testing drives and they'll test anyone who walks by.
Even symptomatic people, or is that not good for their numbers?

It is by CHEMED and they are not pushing that game.

Can someone help me here?
Where is the easiest (shortest time in the waiting room) place in Lakewood to get a non-rapid covid test, for an asymptomatic teen (needs it for school).
Thank you.
Thanks all. For the posts and the PM's.

Forgot to mention Friendly’s refused to test my wife the other day despite having all the symptoms. After fighting with them for 10 minutes they only agreed to do a rapid that turned out negative. Bunch of idiots.

What was their reasoning?

Even though a member in her household was confirmed Covid positive? Wow.

I was thinking the same thing. Very surprising consider urgent care places elsewhere are making bank on COVID testing.

I wonder if they deliberately did not want to spike their positivity rates with somebody who was almost definitely positive, or just felt a rapid is likely to pick it up anyways.

At that point I did not get my positive results yet.

Were you experiencing symtoms when you got the tests? How long before the tests did symptoms start? (If yes)
I'm not who you think I am.

yes 2 or 3 days (light symptoms on and off)
this was YK time
(by clearly positive, i meant not from symptoms but based on the CHEMED 2 positives taken a couple hours later)

Fluke, foul play, or incompetence?
False negatives occur fairly frequently. My mother also had a false negative from Friendly

Curious why would you went for a second set of tests on the same day?
Also, did you get the negative response before going for a second set of test? or did the (negative) results only come later?

Precisely my dear Watson
I got the 2nd tests because they couldn't guarantee results before YT and Chemed could
Fluke, foul play, or incompetence?
IMHO #3 or bad batch, there were lots of false negatives in that period, one with disastrous consequences (guy tests negative goes to shul YK w/o mask and very obviously ill...)

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — More than 1 out of every 4 hospital beds in Ocean County is occupied by a patient being treated for the coronavirus, according to the latest data.

Those numbers are highest at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where the latest federal data shows capacity at 100 percent and 10 percent of all beds filled with COVID-19 patients. Ocean Medical Center in Brick had the highest percentage of COVID-19 patients, with 43 percent of its beds occupied by COVID-19 patients and the hospital at 87 percent of its bed capacity.

The federal government released new hospital-level data and NPR, using analysis from the University of Minnesota's COVID-19 Hospitalization Tracking Project, built a tool that shows hospital-by-hospital information.

The data comes from the week of Dec. 4 to Dec. 11.

You can access the NPR tool here

At Ocean County hospitals, an average of 26 percent of all patients beds are currently being occupied by COVID-19 patients, according to the data.

While there is no clear threshold, NPR cites hospital experts saying that anything above 10 percent is concerning and anything above 20 percent represents "extreme stress" for a hospital.
