“everyone had it already” is the biggest misnomer here. I think local doctors who release statements like “over 70% of our community was infected or exposed” are partially responsible for this mindset.
With a population of 100,000 in Lakewood, if 75,000 people had it, that leaves 25,000 who didn't.
That's still a lot who can get sick, some of whom are at high risk for getting very sick if they get covid.
Those people have to take precautions.
