Goes both ways. OP was claiming that there is no thought that in such a case one would have to listen to Rashi. Does he have a source for that? Lo sasur definitely applies to such a type of case. May not be relevant here as it's not Sanhedrin etc. But definitely not possible to say there's no hava amina of such a concept.

In addition, this is a psak halacha, it's just based on medical knowledge.

Are you for real? Halacha doesn't work that way. You have to look at the whole picture and get all the sources. Otherwise you would have no clue what Rashi is really talking about.

We are going in circles. My entire point is that not everything a Rov tells you has the status of a psak halacha. Even if it's דרך שאלה ותשובה. Even if he feels very strongly about it.
