CMIIW, the people you were arguing with thought COVID should be taken seriously way before community spread, to avoid what we are seeing now, while you thought that community spread is when we should take it seriously. The issue with that, is there's not much we can do at this point besides perhaps implementing some drastic measures.

I personally know 4 cases that were hospitalized within the last day, 3 young people, either COVID became extremely dangerous overnight, or there are a hell of a lot more cases than reported.

That there were few tests given on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and maybe even Monday.

Due respect, you specifically said numerous times that masking wasn't important because it's not spreading, then it was a few isolated cases, but you'd worry if there were community spread. Now that community spread is here, you have no answer?

This "don't test, don't tell" protocol will come in handy again after this wave subsides: "we have herd immunity! everyone had it! they just didn't get tested!"

I spoke with a school administrator with a bit of a dilemma. Parents are sending in exposed kids, but when they ask him or he finds out, he sends them home. But if he makes an announcement that exposed kids aren’t allowed in school, many/most parents won’t tell him and will send anyways. Other than shutting down the school indefinitely there’s no solution. There’s an obvious solution but it has to come from outside the school.
