First it was 2 weeks, then it became a few months, and now we're looking at 2 years.

The longer this continues the worse the psychological damage. The more time goes on, the more benefit of "precautions" are outweighed.

2 weeks to slow the spread during an incredible onslaught, not 2 weeks to bring life to pre-corona times. Anyone that claims to believe otherwise is either a liar or a fool. After 2 weeks, wear masks and take simple precautions until we can mitigate the virus. If someone has psychological damage from wearing a mask, that likely indicates they had psychological issues from beforehand.

Babysitters daughter had a fever. Their pediatrician said as long as she stays away from the kids the mother can still babysit. Until they get results. Once results are in if its positive then they should close.
Are babies less likely to get sick when waiting for results?

Likely? Only if the babysitter's daughter tests positive.

How old is the daughter? Children are less likely to pass it on.

This is exactly what many here have been saying. Take more simple precautions so that we don't need to take harsher ones. If it goes to another lockdown it will be due to those who could not take simple precautions to prevent it from reaching that point.

Let's say your risk tolerance is a 5% chance and there is a 10% change that she's positive and a if she's positive there's a 10% chance she'll pass it on. Until the results come back there's a 1% chance she'll infect someone, if it comes back positive there's a 10% chance she'll infect someone.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It is great that they are making people aware of what to do once they suspect they may have Covid, what about suggesting social distancing and masks where appropriate to try and prevent people from getting it in the first place? As I have mentioned before playing catch up to this virus is going to cost lives.

What's less likely mean.

Children under the age of 9 have been reported to both catch and transmit the virus at a much lower rate than older children and adults. Different studies have attributed it to either smaller lungs/airways or lower expression of ACE2.

This has mostly been proven false. Children may be less likely to catch it, but have been found to have comparable levels of transmission.

Infants get fever very often, it could be teething or anything else. The chances of it being COVID without known exposure are slim.

The intitial conclusions were based on small sample sizes. The truth is that there's little evidence one way or the other.

I should have been more specific in my previous statement.

Based on what we've seen in Lakewood during the past 2 waves it definitely seems that children (10-11 and under) aren't a source of spread.

I believe one of the current hospitalizations is a child?

Wasn't saying they don't get sick; rather they don't seem to be a source of spread...
