Lakewood covid cases

Not a good place to be in. Maybe the Rav has thought about your position? I would either reconcile my opinion with my Rav, speak to my Rav openly, or get myself  a new Rav ASAP.

Thankfully I have a personal rov whom I trust, this is the rov of my shul.

I did have a conversation with him. He brought up a bunch of silly arguments about masks but then explained where it's really coming from. He said hishtadlus is a chiyuv but it doesn't accomplish anything. Right now, his daas torah says there's no shchichi hezeika and therefore masks are not part of the hishtadlus. And I should stop trying to play god.

So yeah.

He doesn't have a shul but yes, he takes it very seriously.

In Lakewood? You will be hard pressed to find a mainstream one that enforces masks. I would have to imagine that if that Rav had a shul it’s unlikely he would either. It’s one thing to strongly believe in it. It’s another to enforce.

There is one covid safe option in my neighborhood.

Based on what we've seen in Lakewood during the past 2 waves it definitely seems that children (10-11 and under) aren't a source of spread.

Time to test out this theory. My 11 year old just tested positive (minor symptoms). She was exposed to her bus driver (who refused to wear a mask). No one else in family is sick...yet.

Rabbi Zimbal from Westgate does and has been for some time. I hear of R Micha Cohen from Oakley Hills, R’ Yitzchok Sorotzkin, and R Yerucham. Can anyone confirm/deny these?

Rav Zimbal has been wearing a mask since right before Rosh Hashanah and had a table keeping everyone coming over after davening a bit away.

From what I heard they believe that virtually everyone there has been heavily exposed between the many mesivta bochurim that had it as well as the beis medrash. The covid section is, in their estimation,  almost just going through the motions.
