Here's a brief TR of my venture today.
I believe anyone over 65 is eligible, or anyone over 18 with a BMI of 35 or more. I was told to bring a covid test result, as it would greatly expedite the process. I printed mine off CHEMED's patient portal and brought it along.
I went in through the emergency room. They took my info, gave me a bracelet, and brought me to the triage admission center to answer questions and have my vitals taken. Was then taken to an ER cubicle/room and given an information sheet with potential side effects.
The infusion started about 45 minutes after I got there. Process was completely painless, aside from the initial needle pinch. It ran for one hour, and then I needed to remain another hour to be monitored. I was hooked up to an EKG, pulse ox, and my blood pressure was taken automatically every 15 minutes. They took my temperature 3 or 4 times during the process.
Interestingly, a Bikur Cholim volunteer popped his head in in middle and offered to get me food. "A tradition soup, or something else?" I politely thanked him and told him that had just eaten supper and that I hoped to be out within an hour or two.
I was free to go home exactly an hour after the infusion stopped. They gave me a pulse ox and told me to monitor myself every 4 hours. They also said that being that it's officially a study, a doc will follow up with me after 12 hours, and again after 3 days.
I'll be happy to take any questions now, besides from CNN, because they're fake news.
