While the numbers and anecdotal evidence certainly support the fact that there is a significant uptick, I don't know if you would call it massive in relation to our previous ones (at least not yet and bez"h we never get there). Also, you had mentioned earlier about concerns about reinfection, and I asked and may have missed your answer, is he or any other doctors seeing actual widespread reinfection possibly due to mutations, or is it just a concern at this point?

I was just repeating hock from a local minyan. I don’t know what/why/how. He didn’t mention anything about reinfection in the email.

Side note: in the email he said the total amount of people from the Kehillah who have been niftar from COVID since Elul is at least 18 (I had a slightly higher number than that so I’m pretty sure he’s missing some).

Community doctors are best positioned and have their fingers on the pulse of these kinds of things.

Deaths (R”L) are a concrete quantified, but they lag by months so you can’t rely on them for real-time data, and it would be shortsighted to wait for that data before reacting at all.

If not due a backlog these numbers are nothing short of scary. There’s quite a bit of Covid fatigue if these numbers aren’t raising the alarm they would have a few months ago. I would think indications point to the UK or other variant going around Lakewood as evidenced by the ramp up in infections and young critically ill.

I would think indications point to the UK or other variant going around Lakewood as evidenced by the ramp up in infections and young critically ill.
