What a disgusting way to speak. I don't know who all the signatories are, but at least some of them are huge talmidei chachamim. Who gave you the right to speak of them like that? (Even if they are wrong in their psak)

There are some that add their own comments but I didn’t see any that say high risk or non-recoverers should vaccinate. Some circles and arrows perhaps?

A Kol Korei signed by 18 Lakewood Rabbanim is far from impressive.

There are 100's of Rabbanim in Lakewood of the caliber of those signed (not disrespecting those who signed but most of them are not from the senior ones in town). The omission of all the other Rabbanim is a statement in itself.

This is certainly true. Will they now put out a lol korei saying to vaccinate?

Translation of Rav Betzalel Klein’s addendum:
“I’m coming from a position where I know absolutely nothing about medicine however since there are many people screaming that the vaccinations cause extreme harm, until there is more clarity one should certainly stay away.”

Not exactly a ringing endorsement and certainly not claiming any expertise or authority in the inyan. I would say ללמד על הכלל כולו יצא until someone credible says he has gone through the inyan extensively and has expertise in medicine.

The sign is two months old, it was hung in a few shuls around town and removed within a few hours. I haven't seen it hung in any Shul personally and I've been around.

A couple of the signatories are most definitely anti-vax, and have been since before the vaccine came out.

Several of them (R' Stein, Klein, Halberstam, Reisman) wrote explicitly that they don't know the inyan well enough but because some people are screaming about the danger it's good to ask your doctor or to stay away for now until they do more research. One (R' Bittersfeld) appeared to water down his signature as well.

Two of the signatories (R' Zimbal and R' Blumenthal) have advised people I know to get vaccinated recently so something is up. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure another one (R' R Halpern) has advised others to vaccinate as well. R' S M Katz who I think is widely considered anti-vax told someone who asked if they should take the vaccine that it's fine if they do, fine if they don't. Even R' Shmuel Kaminetzky (!) advised seminary girls to take the vaccine to get into Israel.

There is definitely something missing which is probably why it has not received more attention (many people haven't seen it and it's been around since Elul).

I heard beshem R’ Nosson Stein that in the next couple of weeks there is going to be a letter put out signed by a bunch of Roshei Yeshiva advising against taking the vaccine.

He advised someone who was told their child will only be allowed into Eretz Yisroel in September if they’re vaccinated to explore American alternatives.

I guess this was the letter he was talking about. That was a lot of time for so few signatures.

Why did Rabbanim sign if they say they don't know about it? I know I wouldn't sign any proclamations about anything I say I don't know about.

I'm not saying if it applies here, but to fault rabbonim for saying it is not right.

Unless a rov is saying, "someone out there knows, but I'm not interested in doing my research, so keep away."

Would the Brisker Rav or Satmar Rav cave in or publish a statement stating to stay far, far away from the anti-vax wackos?

See Rav Stein from BP. He gave a very nice drushe Pesach time regarding the necessity of taking the vaccine. He did not cave in or keep quiet. He spoke up.

I wouldn't assume they all actually ageed to have have their signatures attached to that letter, especially with the current wording.
