I finally took the courage to book a surprise trip with my wife and now I'm thinking if I should just cancel it. I never usually do these things and was very proud to pull it off and keep the secret. But I'm having doubts right now.  I'm curious to see what others would do.

Considering the fact that I'm not high risk, no.

If the trip is mostly outdoor activities I wouldn't cancel.

The question and the options are opposites. Yes in the question and yes in the answers mean different things...

Given the numerous complaints of long term problems from getting covid, I wouldn't go to an active hotspot even not at high risk of mortality if I had no antibodies.
Even with antibodies I'd think twice.

For many couples, something of this import would be a joint decision.  Do you have reason to think your wife would consider it fun to travel to a pandemic hotspot?

It would depend what you plan on doing there and how well you protect yourself. I am cancelling my LAS trip but I go there for gambling, food and shows. Talk about the trifecta of hotspots.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

At current prices, I'd book a whole trip and cancel closer to the trip date if the situation doesn't get better.

Work or a simcha would be different than a leisure trip that can be done elsewhere, sure.

Same here. Booked Las Vegas for last week... Cancelled due to hot spot (and quarantine on return), and switched to a "non hotspot". Glad I did.

I'm actually booked also LAS for 2 weeks from today.  And that's what I'm contemplating.   I think i will wait until this friday to see the numbers and then I will decide.

I don't think it's particularly wise to travel somewhere where hospitals are overwhelmed regardless of any other risks.

I would cancel, I personally know young people who had it Purim/Pesach time and still have issues. No fever, but stomach problems and pains. I did book tickets for October and January (Thanks Dan/JJ, great prices)

In the same boat and am trying to convince myself it will be ok.
If I can't convince myself then no one can.  :)
