How much can one make from credit cards?

How much money can someone make a year from credit cards (as opposed to miles)?  Personal stories or what someone can potentially earn now would be great.

It might be hard to believe but according to a FWF thread over 6 figures was made with the old Citi Cash returns card.

absolutely nothing...they matched my 100K for CO and gave me 100K capital1 points worth $1000 toward charges on the statement such as travel
