I would start small, especially if your trying to reach an Amex spending threshold. A few hundred here and there. I only spent 700 after a few months of using venmo.

I don't believe anyone reported issues with a Chase card using Venmo or AP. So If you haven't reached your Amazonpayment limit yet, then use that too. The worst that Venmo willl do is freeze your account, ask you for your ID (license), and verify the credit card currently listed on the account.

I did amex $1K on venmo in one shot. No problems (on that specific account).

On your first time using them? Also, how long ago did you do this?

Like how much would you recommend ? is starting with 700 ok?
I had my account flagged at one point for review and I started with just 20 dollars and later in that month sent 550. After that month every month I make 2 payments about 600 each. When they flagged my account they reviewed it manually and said it looks real. So again it is worth starting out real small so they think you are not just trying to get points.

I would guess being flagged once is just a simple thing, they wanted a copy of id and cc. Second time I would guess after they have that already that they would be looking to close you down

going through now is not the problem. what you need to make sure is not to look like you are gaming the system for points because they very quickly freeze accounts.

they will not freeze it after your one payment I am merely saying tread carefully. I got a temporary freeze 3 months into this venmo thing which I got removed no problem.

It can take up to 24 hours to get frozen after a suspicious transaction

Venmo is using the Stick and Carrot Approach, as Peyton Sherwood is always the rep who signs the email "your account has been frozen, and Dan Garfinkel is, coincidentally, always the rep who unfreeze the account....
