I kinda enjoy his posts, since it seems like he always has big things going on.

I haven't been able to read all of them yet. Not w/o losing both a job and a family.
And even miles aren't worth that.

I'm guessing this would look the same to Amex as AP for FR.
Anyone with insight? Stick with Citi/Chase?
And what have people been doing to get banned?

I have been harassing Venmo for over six months because they will not cut me a check for the .50 I have in my account they suspended. They have now decided to send the .50 back to the original source. The problem is I am also the owner of that account and it is also suspended. Here goes another six months.  ;D

Email from Venmo:
you paid xxxx $0.50 Reversing payment # xxxxx for $0.50 from user xxxx to user xxxx

Did they ask to send in photo ID (and did you not comply)?  For 50 cents - yeah who cares, but you'd probably feel different with a couple grand on the line.   I have two data points like that in which they unfroze and let the withdrawal go through within 24 hours of sending in ID photocopy.  Not only that but they sent a friendly message for complying, kept the account open for continued payments - all this even after obvious 'questionable' payment activity.  So for those hitting this hard (harder than 50 cents) my advice is keep the receiving account legit (name) and be willing to send in ID, and you shouldn't have any worries about frozen funds.  The sending accounts you don't care about being frozen and verifying with ID, as funds don't get frozen at that stage.  There is nothing stopping you from opening another sending account if you know what you're doing.

Why is venmo doing this? How do they earn money? I mean, they have to pay a processing fee for all transactions.

like all tech companies, they first acquire critical mass then look for ways to monetize it. It worked for Google, and Facebook, Twitter etc, have mega valuations based on that.
