Israeli stimulus
« on: July 26, 2020, 11:58:39 AM »
Would Israeli citizens living abroad be eligible for the Israeli stimulus? If yes how would we go about getting it? Would a non Israeli spouse and kids be eligible to be included as they are part of my family? Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

most countries tax by residence not by citizenship USA is an exception, that's why USA abroad received the stimulus, I believe that Israeli citizens that don't file taxes because they are not residents will not receive Israeli stimulus

how? what do you need to do?
Well, first step would be to change your location in your DDF bio.

File US tax returns or, if you don't have a filing requirement, file a non-filer form available on irs.gov.

When it comes to taking money from the government, they suddenly find a magical hetter that “it’s a mitzvah to take money from them, because then it’s like you’re weakening them by taking away their money” or some such crap.

I know someone who only takes enough to cover the fines and taxes they charge him.

Also, regarding money many pay taxes despite hating the govt as they view it as a Buissnes transaction: we need police, fire dept, water,

As long as you are not disqualified.

A US tax question which will be very relevant going into next year.
The Israeli government has been giving financial assistance to small businesses which are suffering financially due to Covid-19. Israeli tax law requires that the business write receipts for these government payments so that it's ultimately included in income for (almost) all Israeli tax purposes.
My question is, under US tax law, would that portion of the income be considered self-employment income or miscellaneous income?
