Author Topic: Best NON-SMARTPHONE Sprint phone (Read 106890 times)

If he/she had the Rumor 'forever' he/she is already used to it. The Centro takes a while to get used to it, and figure it out. It's also harder to find than the simple phones. You always have to make sure to take along a charger (big hassle). If he/she was happy till now, there's no need to change.

I have a question similar to DanH.
My father's Blackberry Curve seems to have charged it's last.
What should I get him to replace it?

1st off - it needs to be a reliable phone (that can have it's volume turned waaay up and it's screen font adjusted to a large size).
I'd like a qwerty keyboard so he can text, although he's very slow at it. I don't think older people like to type on a touch screen.
He enjoys his camera a lot.
I'd like a modicum of data, so he can get the family whatsapp, but I don't want a full smart phone.

The recommendations above were LG Rumor, Remarq and Palm Centro.
Any other ideas? Which do you think would be best for my father?

The Replenish is a smart phone, but it's an older one and it has a qwerty keyboard.

The Replenish and the Centro look similar to each other. One is Palm the other is Android. Would this make any difference to a simple user?
The keyboards have small keys.
The Rumor may be easier to type on. Is there anything that makes it a worse choice than the others?

First there is one difference which you might not mind that on the rumor you cannot view the texts between two people in "conversation mode" rather it comes up as a list, and also im not sure how you plan on putting whatsapp on a rumor (although i have heard that you can get them sent as texts).

Good point. I bought him that so he'd have internet access. (in prehistoric times.) He only used it for a few websites that he was comfortable with. We got him a computer a few months ago and he's enjoying it, but he's still pretty clueless.
I guess I'm trying to explore other phone options in case they're better suited to him.
